I read ‘Direbound,’ Book 1 of the Wolves of Ruin by Sable Sorensen and it is FANTASTIC! (FYI, this is an unbiased, genuine recommendation of a book I loved and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
You guyysss 👏🏻👏🏻… I first saw this book rec’d in my FB reader’s group, and THEN!… I saw it rec’d in my FB reader’s group 😮. Annnnd… I saw it rec’d in my FB reader’s group 😲😲!!! Well you don’t have to tell me TWICE (err maybe you actually do 😅), so OF COURSE, I had to try this book! And OMG 🤯! I am SO GLAD I DID 👏🏻🙌🏻!
This really was a PAGE-TURNING ↩↩↩ Romantasy 🐺 that WILL DEFINITELY draw in fans of Wing of the Fourth🐉 … definitely similar vibes in the BEST OF WAYS 🏆, but a completely ORIGINAL story with plenty of “AH-HA” 🤯 moments for those who love GREAT DRAMA 🎭!
I mean, I gotta say 👆🏻… one moment… I JUST DID NOT SEE COMING 😳!
I was like… WAIT ✋🏻. WAIT ✋🏻! What 😲 ?! Let me turn ↪ back a few pages, did I read that right?! Why yes! Yes, I did 😅. (Not me texting my book bestie… like GIRL👉🏻 , did you get to this part, because I’m legit mind blown 🤯 right now!) SPOILER ALERT (ok not an actual spoiler 😆)… but she DID get to that part already because well, she reads waaaay faster 🏃🏻♀️ than me (to the point I now purposely wait until I’m at like 75% in a book before I ask her to join me on a buddy read 😂😂)! AND SHE STILL BEATS ME 🤣🤣🤣.
Anyhoo, so yeah! It’s not often I’m completely SURPRISED 😲… and I was totally SHOCKED 😱. Annnnd… it was AT THAT POINT I knew- without a shadow of a doubt- that I would write an Emoji Review 🥳! Dun dun dun dun! 🥁
OMG with all the rambling, I totally forgot to mention what this book is about 😅!
Okay ✔! So it starts off in a land that is not our own, where there is a castle 🏰, a king 👑, that kind of thing, ya know. Our girl is from the poorer part of the land 😫… a part that has had their children go missing 😭! Enter 👉🏻 our FMC, who has a little sister that she is primarily responsible for since her mother lives in Crazy 😵💫 Town USA most of the time (errr.. I repeat… this is a world that is not our own so not really USA lol), and she is quite the MMA fighter 👊🏻! Okay, okay, you got me! Not MMA because remember… this is a land THAT IS NOT OUR OWN! But the point 👇 is… our girl has skills 🤺. But she isn’t the ONLY one… there is a whole group of ELITE 🔥 WARRIORS that bond 🪢 with DIREWOLVES … DIREWOLVES 🐺🐺🐺 people! Anyone else think of Sansa Stark’s LADY 😭😭😭 when they hear the word DIREWOLVES 🐺?! No, just me?
Okaaaay… anyway, these bonded elite warriors have a whole brutal 🩸trial they have to go through in order for a Direwolf to BOND 🪢 with them… and if you thought the PARAPET was bad (okay, gotta STOP 🛑 here and give a SHOUT OUT📣. My 8 pound pup 🐶 Max- yes, of course he’s named from STRANGER THINGS because DUH- well, my boy Max walks a PARAPET daily – the back of our couch 😂😂😂 – just to cross over to see the hubs, and I couldn’t be more PROUD 😍… Violet WHO, I say 😅?!) …. Okay so the point 👇 is (I know, we have gotten farrrrr off the beaten track, sort of like our girl Meryn up that mountain!), if you thought THOSE trials were bad in the wing of the fourth… or like… spontaneously combusting by dragon fire, I gotta say that these Direworlf Bonding trials just may take the cake 🎂! Throw in a hotttt 🥵 … oh so hotttt 🥵 ELITE bonded warrior that is MOODY 🔥to our girl… and I was hooked 👏🏻!
So if you love a Romantasy where the FMC is in UNFORTUNATE 😫circumstances, a BADASS 🥷 in her own right, BRUTAL trials to bond with a MAGNIFICENT creature, a HOT 🔥& BROODY MMC, and HONESTLY ✌️… LEGIT SURPRISES 😲 that I just didn’t see coming 🤯… give this a shot! It’s free on KU and it just may be a DIRE of a WOLF of a read for you too!
