We have a FABULOUS Monthly Book Box Giveaway in each of our FB Groups to thank one truly special group member! The giveaway is usually donated by either a Book Box subscription company or an author. The winner is someone that the moderators choose as being a standout group member and someone who goes above & beyond to support the group. All types of factors are considered when choosing a winner, from someone we just notice always loving on books & authors to Facebook Contribution Points! (Contribution points are systematically given by Facebook and not the moderators.)
“M’am” stands for Mod’s Appreciated Member (it’s also a respectful phrase in the southern states of the US!) So it’s just a little fun name for a giveaway as Rebecca lives in the south and it’s common to say “Thank You M’am!”
What’s in the Book Box?
The Thank You M’am Book Box is determined by the Book Box company donating or the Author. The only requirement is that the books fall under the group umbrella of the respective FanGrrrl Romance Recs readers group. For FanGrrrl 💋 Romance Recs (Urban Fantasy, Romantasy, & Paranormal Romance!, the books should have supernatural, paranormal, or fantasy elements AND romance. For FanGrrrl 🖤 Romance Recs After Dark 🔥 (Edgy Contemp Romance & Why Choose!), the books should have “human-only” characters in all aspects of steamy & edgy Contemporary Romance (Billionaire, MC, Mafia, Gothic, Rockstar, Sports Romance, St@lker, etc.) Typically the Book Box contains some combination of paperbacks or hardbacks (typically signed if by an author) and swag/merch.
Authors: recommend researching Book Boxes to get an idea of how you can make this fun for the winner! Often times, they take pictures and post the contents of the book box in the group.
Visibility for the Thank You M’am Giveaway
The giveaway is featured in the Thank You M’am section of the respective FB Group Newsletter, a post in the Announcements, and FanGrrrl Romance Recs Founder Rebecca Dixon reads a short description of the giveaway (given by the author) on the Monthly LIVE (LIVE is broadcast to all three FanGrrrl Romance Facebook Groups, and our FB Page, Insta & YouTube!) Rebecca also requests on the Monthly LIVE that any member who receives the Book Box, to post pics of it in the group when they receive it!
To Sign-up for the Thank You M’am Giveaway
There is different criteria for an author to sign-up to donate a Book Box for Thank You M’am. In FanGrrrl 💋 Romance Recs (Urban Fantasy, Romantasy, & Paranormal Romance!), the author must have at least one book published with 4-5 stars and over 1K ratings on Amazon. In FanGrrrl 🖤 Romance Recs After Dark 🔥 (Edgy Contemp Romance & Why Choose!), the author must have at least one book published with 4-5 stars and over 500 ratings on Amazon. The reason this criteria is in place is because we have thousands of authors in our groups and high demand to donate for this giveaway.
