I finished ‘The King’s Captive’ by KM Shea and it was ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN’ FANTASTIC 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
Ok so I got to be transparent 👓 here folks… I saw this book on the Amazon Bestsellers 🏆 list SEVERAL times and I kept passing it up 😲🤦🏻♀️! I DO like YA … but these days, I’ve been reading more steamy 🔥 PNRs! I’m not a huge fan of ‘fade-to-black’ … so I just have to be in the right mindset to attempt a YA! But the thing is.. I LOVE ❤️ Urban Fantasies. UF’s are where it ALL started for me… Kate Daniels, Mercy Thompson, The Hollows… freaking FABULOUS stuff 🙌🏻! I also LOVE 💕 humor! So when I noticed ‘The King’s Captive’ kept growing and growing with MORE ratings… while still retaining ALL FIVE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STARS… I thought 🤔, man I better give this a shot 🤞🏻! And oh boy!! I am SO GLAD I DID!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
OK ✅ so this book starts off with a FMC who can shift into a CAT 🐈⬛!! She’s a HUMAN🧍🏻♀️in a world 🌎 where supernaturals are the TOP of the pecking order. She isn’t affiliated with any group that can help protect 👊🏻 her, and because of that… she’s spent her life dodging 🏃🏻♀️trolls 🧌, pixie’s 🧚♀️ … well, really ALL kinds of FAE! But somehow in her attempt to get away, she becomes the PET of a powerful 💥supernatural KING 👑! He thinks she’s just a cat and ADORES 😍 her. But she obviously knows she’s really a HUMAN and is trying to get away from his clutches 🫶🏻… literally!
It’s all quite funny 😆 to be honest! The book is LOADED with comical 😅 scenes and endearing 💞 characters. This is YA, so I don’t expect it to get steamy in future books (it is NOT steamy 🌶 in this one,) but the plotline is SO GREAT 🤩, so fast paced, and so much FUN 🥳 that I don’t care! Not to mention… I freaking LOVE the KING 👑! That guy is SUPER BADA$S 🤺!
So if you LOVE a super CUTE 😍 plotline that is original, FAST PACED writing with some great COMEDY 😆, a powerful 💥MMC with an ADORABLE ❤️ FMC… give this a shot! But really, you don’t have take MY emoji word for it… just look at those ratings 😲! Over 2,000 with ALL 5 STARS ⭐️!!!! And you know what else 👏🏻?? Book 2 comes out TONIGHT and I for one know what I’ll be reading! 😁😁😁
