I just finished ‘A Word So Fitly Spoken’ by T.L. Lawrence and all I have to say is…. WOW 🤯! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
OK… so I think this book is SUPER special 💖💖💖. Honestly, I think it’s a WORK of ART 🎨. It’s a Romance Fantasy and it’s YA… so not what I read as often as a GOOD, steamy 🔥 PNR! Or an action packed 🤺 UF! But I do LOVE ❤️ me a GREAT Romance Fantasy 🧚♀️ like an ACOTAR or a FBAA … and well, I have never really read anything like this book before (and that’s saying something 😲!!) So the BAD 👎🏻 news AND the GOOD 👍🏻 news is… I can’t really relate it to anything you already know! 🙌🏻
But I CAN say this… it IS a Romance Fantasy that is DEEP 🤿, MEANINGFUL 💝, and BEAUTIFULLY 💞 written! It’s IMAGINATIVE 💭, CREATIVE ✨, and extremely INTELLIGENT 💡, in my opinion 😁. Some of the lines and thoughts 💭 the characters say/have are very INSIGHTFUL 👓. It’s the kind of book that combines Fantasy 😆 and Romance 💘 with REAL world, WHOLESOME themes…. loving someone for who they are and not what they look like… making sacrifices for the betterment of others… forgiveness 💕. The author has a way of weaving 🪡 a story within a story… honestly the best compliment I can pay her is that she is a MASTER storyteller 📚. This lady was born to tell a story! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
OK 👌🏻… so you CAN tell I really liked the book, huh?!! 😆. So what’s it about??!!
It starts off in a world 🌎 where the FAE 🧚♀️ rule and HUMANS 🧍🏻 are considered the LOWEST of the low 😫. The HEARTBROKEN 💔 and DISGRUNTLED 😠 FAE KING 👑 issues a proclamation 📝 where every MOONCYCLE 🌙 , a V!RGIN human woman will be chosen to become his BRIDE 👰 , BED 🛌 him, and then he will SLAUGHTER 🔪 her the next morning ☀️!!! Pretty SHOCKING 😱, right?! Enter our human FMC… life has been CRUEL 👿 , but she LOVES ❤️ her sister more than ANYTHING else in the world and will do ANYTHING to save her… including, making a BRAVE 💪🏻 sacrifice 😲😲😲!
There really are some very unique 🤌🏻 💋elements to this book… it was UNPREDICTABLE and threw in some great TWISTS 🌪 and TURNS ↩️! But HONESTLY ✌🏻, I think my FAVORITE part is the ENDEARING 🥰 moments from the MMC… that guy WON me over BIG TIME 👏🏻… SWOON 😍😍😍. There isn’t steam 🌶 (this is a YA)… but I didn’t care!! This steam 🔥 lover thought the story alone was absolutely worth it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So if you LOVE ❤️ a ROMANCE FANTASY 🧚♀️ where it takes place in a world that is NOT our own, you LOVE world building 🌍 and DEEP meaningful themes, BEAUTIFUL 💗 writing, ANGST between characters and a very UNIQUE & INTELLIGENT 💡 plotline…give this a shot!
