Guys! I purposely decided to write a separate Emoji Review for Book 2 because it’s pretty great & really it’s own separate book! I just posted Book 1’s Emoji Review… and here’s Book 2!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I just read ‘The Heir Apparent’s Rejected Mate,’ The Five Packs Book 2 by Cate C Wells and it was GREAT 🤩! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author, not in the book biz, reading is just a HOBBY, and I’m just a regular reader that is super passionate 💗 about spreading the word on GREAT books!) There are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻
Guyyyssss… honestly, after I finished reading the first book in this series… I COULD NOT WAIT to start THIS book 🙌🏻! So this series has a different romantic 💘 couple every book and although I don’t read those as often any more, I LOVED ❤️ Book 1 so much that I REALLY wanted to see what Book 2 was about! And I AM SO GLAD I DID 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! (FYI… you don’t have to read Book 1 first … but I would recommend it 👆🏻!)
So you know when you finish a GREAT 🤩 book, your like… mannnn… I NEED another book with THESE VIBES … like RIGHT NOW 😩😩😆?!!! Welp! Guess what?!? You GET THAT with THIS BOOK 👏🏻! If you loved Book 1, your gonna love this one (you may even love it more 😮!) I went into this book knowing it was going to have GREAT🤩 writing and that YES ✅ , I’d get a 💘 HEA by the end.. but that I would LOVE ❤️ the JOURNEY 🏃🏻♀️ to get there! And that is EXACTLY 💯 what I got! 🥳🥳🥳
So THIS book is a bit unique from the first book in that it’s a different pack that lives VERY different from the pack in Book 1. The FMC in this book is STRONG 💪🏻 just like the FMC in Book 1 (praise 🙏🏻 the book gods… or AKA Cate C Wells 😅,) but she is a completely different personality than the FMC in Book 1 (yay 😁!) In this book, the pack is super modern 🚗 & they have sort of lost their way as far as their pack roots 🌱 go! The pack is SUPER divided 💔… one half are the rich money 💰& classy 💄(aka ‘Nobs’… seriously, that’s their name 😂😂😂… and they are the class of the Alpha 🐺 Heir Apparent!) And the other half are those that still follow the old ways (aka, the ‘Scavengers’ and they are the class of the FMC 💋!) The division between the two makes the story pretty page-turning, as you KNOW 🧠 that it has to work out somehow 🤞🏻… but you don’t know how 🤷🏻♀️ ! FYI! There is a SLIGHT Academy feel with this book, whereas with the first book… the FMC was an adult, working FMC!
Just like with the first book, there is STEAM 🔥 but it isn’t overpowering! There are nods to Omegaverse… knots 🪢 & heat… but it IS NOT Omegaverse! The spice 🌶 is very well written and doesn’t go on forever. It’s great for those who like steam 🍆 & also great for those who don’t like a lot! Definitely a slow burn 🔥 … and well worth it 😍!
I loved BOTH books in this series so much (I’m assuming there’s going to be 3 more since this is called ‘The Five Pack’ series,) that I’m looking up her other books to check them out too! Apparently she has some Mafia books 🙌🏻! Can’t wait for the next book in this series 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!!
So if you love a STRONG 💪🏻 FMC who follows what she thinks is RIGHT the ENTIRE book, a MMC that you hate, but somehow FALL COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH 😍, really EXCEPTIONAL writing with tons of layers, and a book that is essentially a standalone… but feels like so much more than just one book when it’s all said and done… give this a shot 🎯! It’s FREE on KU and you never know, it may just be your next FAV Rejected Mates book!

🐺 Strong 💪🏻 FMC (the entire book folks!) & MMC that just like the first book, STEALS your HEART! Just like with the first book, I really fell in love with this book more & more as I read it! Excellent character development 👏🏻!
🐺 THERE IS STEAM 🔥! But it’s not dominant. Slower burn for sure!
🐺 Slight omegaverse vibes (there is a kn0t, sl!ck, & heat… but that’s about it!)
🐺 HEA ending! 💘💘💘
