I just finished reading Book 1 ‘Ward’s Siren‘ & Book 2 โEdenโs Enforcerโ of Lost Siren Series by Stephanie Hudson and they were GREAT ๐คฉ! (FYI, Iโm not affiliated with the author, not in the book biz, reading is just a HOBBY, and Iโm just a regular reader that is super passionate ๐ about spreading the word on GREAT books!) There are NO spoilers! ๐๐ป
OK โ ! So the VERY first ๐๐ปthing to mention isโฆ if you LOVE โค๏ธ Afterlife, your gonna LOVE โค๏ธ these two books! And VERY next ๐๐ป thing to mention isโฆ you DO NOT have to read ANY OTHER Stephanie Hudson book before this one if you donโt want to (but Iโll definitely give more info about this here in a min ๐!). Annnnndโฆ with that, the LAST โ๐ป crucial piece of info you should know isโฆ these are relatively short books (compared to her other books ๐) AND the story of each couple wraps up in TWO books! So there will be 22 books total, with two books focusing on a different romantic couple ๐๐ป!
Alright, now that super important info is taken care of ๐โฆ I really enjoyed these two books ๐ฅณ! Most people know that Afterlife Saga is LITERALLY my favorite series of ALL TIME ๐ฐ because Iโm such a HUGE fan of the DRAMA ๐ญ & the Alphaholes ๐ฅต that Stephanie Hudson EXCELS at! So because of this, these two books were SUPER NOSTALGIC for me and it was really FREAKINโ COOL ๐ to walk into Afterlife again & run into some oldies-but-goodies ๐๐ป! But GOOD NEWS ๐๐ป, the author wrote this in such a way that you really donโt have to read Afterlife first! But again, Iโll break that down here in two shakes ๐ค of a tail feather ๐ชถ๐!
The story starts off with an independent 20 something year old data analyst (who is literally living in her car & has lost everything after being taken advantage of by someone she trusted!,) being BROKEN DOWN on the side of the road โฆ and wouldn’t you know who pulls up in his SEโY A$S car with his SEโY A$S self ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ! Talk about a DAMSEL in DISTRESS, y’all! ๐๐๐ So yep! Our girl is on her way to AFTERLIFE to get some help against some human mobster types from DOMINIC DRAVEN ๐ himselfโฆ to only run into one of his HOT ๐ฅต ENFORCERS first!
So the really cool thing is this book kicks into gear pretty dang quickly ๐๐ป! This is not one of the longer books by Steph with all of the descriptive world ๐ building thrown into play (although there is definitely world building in this bookโฆ and in some ways, more is explained about the Afterlife universe too ๐๐ป!) And this leads me to explain why you may or may not want to read this before Afterlife!
The plotline in this book takes place at the SAME TIME as Afterlife Book 1 ๐คฏ! It literally is just when the Afterlife FMC arrives in the USA ๐บ๐ธ and things are JUST starting to get cookinโ ๐จ๐ปโ๐ณ with her & her man ๐ฅต! So really no spoilers happen in these two books ๐๐ป! All of Stephanie Hudson books are โFated Mates ๐โ tropesโฆ so itโs not like you donโt know that the FMC is going to end up with the MMC ๐คช๐! So not much of a spoiler there, folks! In โWardโs Siren,โ the mystery ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ of Afterlife & Dominic Draven is explained relatively swiftly. Whereas in the book โAfterlife,โ itโs a BIG mystery ๐ as we learn about the world at the same time as the FMC in Afterlife does ๐ค! Things likeโฆ whatโs the deal with this nightclub ๐๐บ๐ชฉ ๐บ๐ท called Afterlife? ๐ง Whatโs the deal with the owners of said club?? ๐ง๐ง Whatโs up with all of this weird a$s sh!t the FMC is seeing & experiencing??? ๐ง๐ง๐ง
So โAfterlifeโ is like a slow entry into the world with tidbits being unfolded one DELECTABLE morsel ๐ซ at a time! And โWardโs Sirenโ is likeโฆ โYO! This is the straight up deal-ee-oh! ๐ค๐ปโ But the thing is! Some readers LOVE ๐ one approach and some LOVE ๐ the other (for example, I prefer MYSTERY ๐, whereas one of my book besties just NEEDS TO KNOW RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND WHAT IS UPโฆ *cough *cough, you know who you are girl ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ!) So the good newsโฆ the GREAT news in factโฆ is you canโt go wrong with either approach! They are both FANTASTIC in their own way! So read whichever you want to first ๐ฅณ!!!
โWardโs Sirenโ & โEdenโs Enforcerโ are really a GREAT ๐คฉ way to sample what Stephanie Hudson books are allllllllll about with ONLY a very small ๐ค๐ป investment of time needed (if you have never read one before, that is!) These two books have the DOMINANT ๐ช๐ป , PROTECTIVE โ๏ธ, HOT ๐ฅต ALPHAHOLE ๐ MMC, the damsel-in-distress but BRAVE ๐ก FMC, the Dom/Sub STEAM ๐ถ, the supernatural ๐น ๐ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐งโโ๏ธ flare, and the cinematic ๐บ DRAMA ๐ญ (seriously, any of her books could be made into TV series ๐๐ป!) I really think this author is just getting better & BETTER ๐๐ป with every book that she writes ๐๐ป! In particular, writing-style-wise, I really loved ๐ how quickly this story kicked into gear, how short the chapters are, and the melodrama of the conclusion of each chapter! And although I love her long, detailed & complicated series in this universe (LAWDY we all know that I do by now ๐ )โฆ this series is like a COOL ๐ฌ glass of water ๐ฆ on a HOT summer โ๏ธ day! Just a nice REFRESHING change of pace & oh so DELICIOUS ๐!
So if you like HOT ๐ฅต ALPHAHOLES that are DOMINANT ๐ชข inside & outside the bedroom ๐๐, FMCโs that need saving, but also like to do the saving sometimes ๐ช๐ป, STEAM ๐ฅ with a smidge of BDSM, and I mustnโt forge the โI will BURN the world down for you ๐ก!!!โ kinda DRAMA ๐ญ โฆ give this a shot ๐ฏ ! Itโs FREE on KU and you never know, it may just SING ๐ถ ๐งโโ๏ธ to you!

๐งโโ๏ธ We get to meet up with some oldies-but-goodies from Afterlife ๐๐ป! (Ya’ll, I sort of flipped my lid when we got to go back to the club ๐๐ป!)
๐งโโ๏ธ THERE IS STEAM ๐ฅ! It’s pretty hotโฆ controlling, dominant, tensionโฆ about 20-30% of Book 1 focuses on their relationship & some spice!
๐งโโ๏ธ One of the themes from Afterlife comes into play and I AM HEAR FOR IT! THIS has the DRAMA ๐ญ that Stephanie Hudson is FAMOUS for!
