I just finished ‘The Blackened Blade,’ Book 1 by Isla Davon… and IT IS FANTASTIC 
! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 
)
You guyyssss… THIS BOOK 
!!! Ok, so I was perusing the Amazon Best Seller list and at the time, this book was in the top 50 and it had around 1600 ratings, all 5 stars 
! Which, combined with the cover, TOTALLY caught my attention 
! Now as I write this… it is #7 on the Best Sellers list, has over 2400 ratings… all 5 Stars! WOWZA! And I am here to tell you… it TOTALLY DESERVES it! 
So! First 
I gotta say, this is a REALLY unique plotline! I’ve NEVER read anything like it before! Which is saying something with the number of books I’ve read in this genre 
! OK… so how many times have you thought 
… “Man, if if ONLY I knew back then what I know now… I’d totally do this or totally do that!” HMMMM???!!! 
OR maybe even be BOLD enough to THINK… “I’d TOTALLY 
rule that school if only I knew then what I know NOW!” Yeah?! Do you know what I mean?! Well then! THIS is the book FOR YOU!
OK 
! So it starts out with a FMC (I am not ruining anything, you literally can read 
this on the Amazon description) who is in a Supernatural Prison and DIES 
! YES SHE DIES 
! LET ME SAY THAT LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK… OUR GIRL DIES ! Like… pretty quickly into the story, actually 
! But when she wakes 
up… she is TEN years in the past, in her 17 year old body 
, right smack-dab back at her old Academy 
(where she was BULLIED 
!) Like HARD-CORE BULLIED 
! Except NOW, her 27 year-old brain has experienced HELL 
that NO ONE should experience in this Supernatural Prison and she is DEFINITELY NOT the same meek 
17 year old she was the first time around! She is STRONGER 
, SMARTER 
, and knows EXACTLY how to handle what’s dished out to her ! Which means… everyone better WATCH OUT because this little Sea Star 
is changing her Stars!
One of the ABSOLUTE BEST 
bits about this book.. and is so unconventional… is that whereas with most books with bullying in it, the FMC suffers 
through the bullying and THEN eventually the tables turn (and we are ROOTING AND HOLLERING 
for it when they do!) But with this book… the bullying happened BEFORE the story begins! So that means… we get to jump right in when the table start turning immediately 
! HOORAY! Honestly, this is so freaking well done!
This is a Why Choose… and I have to say, it TOO is super different from any Why Choose I’ve ever read 
! I honestly don’t know- when it’s all said and done- who is going to be her guys 
! Keeping me guessing is one of my FAVORITE 
things an author can do and this author EXCELS 
at it!! There isn’t much steam 
, this is a super slow 
burn… but there’s enough banter and angst to totally keep us engaged! I REALLY like some of the guys and I cannot WAIT to see where this story goes! 
Now … this author is NEW (or at least the pen name is) and season readers will pick up a few signs of that when reading… including a cliffhanger that I’ve never seen before (LIKE… I kid you not it feels like the writing just stops at the end lmao!). But I DO NOT care… the story is sooooo GOOD, I’d recommend this all day long!
So if you LOVE a strong FMC who takes NO crap and is hell bent on taking down 
those who wronged her, a really UNIQUE plotline that will get you excited & page-turn like crazy, SEXY MMCs 
who make you wonder who is actually our girl’s endgame , and you’re looking for the next book to give you a reading slump … give this a shot! It’s free on KU and you never know, it just may be your next addiction too!
