I just finished reading ‘Moon Touched,’ Book 1 of Zodiac Wolves series by Elizabeth Briggs 🙌🏻…. annnnnnd runs 🏃🏻♀️ to Amazon to get Book 2! 😆
So this book is about a young FMC who has a pretty crappy upbringing where EVERYONE in her 🐺 pack (including her jerk of an Alpha father) has been harsh to her for being “half-human.” In a world where werewolves exist in packs based-on Zodiac ♋️ ♌️ symbols, our girl just doesn’t fit in anywhere! Hope ✨ comes in the form of the ‘Convergence’ (aka, mating 💍 ceremony) where she has the chance to escape her pack and mate to a wolf from another! But will the wolf she’s “fated” to be with (*cough cough is it really fate?! 😜)… be her hero 🦸♂️ or her tormentor, like everyone she’s ever known?
OK! So this book is K!LL!ING it on Amazon bestsellers 🙌🏻! It has almost 3,000 ratings 😲 averaging nearly 5 STARS ⭐️ ! To be honest… when I first picked it up, I was a bit concerned that it would be too similar to other popular Zodiac reads 😬! But it really is it’s own story 👏🏻! During a time where Zodiac themed plotlines are the latest craze, this book is actually refreshingly unique from other extremely popular bestsellers 👏🏻👏🏻! And I just loved 💜 that!
So I was pretty much sucked into this book from the very beginning! I think I read it in 24 hrs 😁! This is mainly because I LOVE DRAMA 🎭 (especially the first half of the book! Yessss 💪🏻 !) I am such a sucker for the “I’m a great person and have been treated unfairly my whole life, still have my V-Card ♥️, and am going to a mating ceremony where I may be rejected” trope 😂. And this is exactly what this is 🙌🏻! There is some K!LLER action and some GREAT 🤩 surprises where I was like… awww, damn GINA 😲 (or should I say DAMN Elizabeth, you surprised me girl 😅!) What’s super great about this book too is that it is really an EASY, FUN 😍 read. It has JUST enough bullying to spin us all up (so that we are super EXCITED 🤩 for payback)… but not enough to really traumatize us 😝! And let me tell you, with some of the major ANXIETY producing books I’ve been reading lately… my heart ❤️ REALLY needed this!!!
But let’s get to the REALLY GOOD stuff 🙌🏻! This book has STEAM 🔥, yo! Great steam 🔥🔥🔥! Praise the Moon 🌙 Gods that it’s not Fade-to-Black and that it really has perfect spice 🌶 ! Our boy is HOT 🥵 ! There’s something really great about a consensual… but not consensual… (but really TOTALLY consensual 😉🥵😁😂) scene that just has all kinds of heat 🔥 and absolutely does not require an author’s warning ⚠️ (because no one is going to be upset about this HEAT 🍆😆!) If anything it’s a … yes 👊🏻… annnnnnd …. let’s have an encore pretty please moment 👏🏻😁! OMG and THE ENDING 🙌🏻 !!! OK, yes to be fair, I could see it coming! BUT 🖐 … it was one of those endings that was super FANASTIC because even though you knew where it was heading, the ANTICIPATION of it happening totally made it GREAT in the BEST 🏆 of ways! And now I just need the next book people … like now 😅!
Really, this book is such a great mix of a safe ⛑ retreat where you know the author is going to just do the reader right AND at the same time, make just enough splash of DRAMA to really hook you! It’s 1:20 am, I just finished the book, I am writing this review…. annnnd…. Yes!!! I am running 🏃🏻♀️ to AMAZON right now to start Book 2! Because that cliffhanger was pretty great 😎, baby!
So if you love a potential rejected mates theme, DRAMA that is hooking (but not too anxiety producing,) some unique werewolf world building, a FMC that will eventually find her powerful 💪🏻 way, TWO bad boys … one to love ❤️ and one to hate 🤬… give this a shot!
