I finished ‘Broken Beauty’ by Ketley Allison and I’m ADDICTED y’all! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! This is just me going GAGA over a book I love 🙌🏻)
Alright ☑️! Couple things to know FIRST 👏🏻! This is a DARK Contemporary Romance RH that yep, has some bl00d 🩸 play. It’s just a tiny bit though! So if that’s not your cuppa… no worries, just scroll on by 😘! (I’m actually not a fan myself, but I still loved the book!)
I gotta be real with you 👆🏻. I think Dark Contemp Romances sort of just grow on you the more you read them! If you have never read one before, they can be quite shocking 😱! Especially a RH! But once you read a few, the addiction can be legit ☝️. You then find yourself reading book after book, just trying to find something to snag you like the last great Dark Contemp Romance… like… Helllllo 👋🏻 Haunting 👻 Adeline fans… or Den of Vipers 🐍! You GET what I mean, amirite? 😆
So! Enter this awesome RH 👏🏻! Honestly ✌🏻 guys, I got hooked AS SOON as one of the guys said, “I have a confession to make, I really want to fu@k you.” LMAO 😅. Um, that’s straight to the point 🎯, isn’t it?! 😂
I have to let y’all know though… this is a TABOO filled RH 😮! Like, real life… ehhh not so cool 👎🏻. Fiction? Can I get a HELL YES 🙌🏻 ! It’s full of spice 🌶️ and honestly, every time she met 🤝 another guy I was like… I’m TOTALLY shipping you guys! That’s actually not very typical for me for a RH, if I’m honest 😬! And speaking of RH’s, anyone who knows me, knows that I didn’t used to be an RH fan! Cupidity 💘 by Raven Kennedy converted me and since then, I’ve catapulted into alllll sorts of RHs 🙌🏻
So what is this story about 🤔? This is actually NOT a Paranormal Romance, to be honest 😇- it feels like one though! There is a really COOL 😎 witches 🧙🏻♀️ plotline! Think Sanderson 🎃 sisters, folks!! Which to be fair, is sort of perfect for this time of year 🍁🍂🍃🌻! The plotline kicks off 🦵 with a FMC who is attending a University (not my go-to trope, mind you!) and we find out pretty quickly that guys dig her 🔥, even with her witchy 🐈⬛ ways. Enter her brother… who is somehow caught up in a Mafia 🔫 type world and is apesh!t protective 👊🏻 over her! He’s a part of a group of Vultures … who… you guessed it! … Are not supposed to be eyeing 👀 his little sis’, but when she’s so dang g0thicly alluring 😍, who can help themself? 😁😁😁
This book has ALL kinds of TABOO tropes, including the whole professor 👨🏫 & student 👩🎓 thing going on 😮! There’s a cool mystery 🔎 as well for the overarching plotline 👏🏻! Gotta be honest ✌🏻, there are some grammatical errors, but I don’t really care! The author did an AMAZING 🤩 job with this story and I LOVE ❤️ each & every guy!!
This is book 1 of a Duet and there is a prior book, FYI. The prior book is a F/M story with the brother 👦 and his gal, but tbh, I was in the mood 😍 for a RH, and I’m so happy I read this first 🙌🏻! It takes the sting 🐝 away that the conclusion for the Duet isn’t available yet, when I can just download the first book that started it all! 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻
So if you like a DARK RH Contemp Romance that is TABOO, has a little bit of bl00d 🩸 play (think Den of Vipers,) has guys that are all SUPER unique and equally delectable 🥵, a COOL 😎 mystery witch 🧙🏻♀️ plotline that makes the book feel like a PNR (when it’s not,) and really GREAT steam 🍆🔥🌶️… give this a shot! It’s FREE on KU and you never know, it may just be the beautiful broken story for you!
