I just finished reading ‘The Sneaky Lass,’ Book 1 of The Silver Locket series by Kennedy Sutton and I am MIND-BLOWN 🤯🤯🤯! (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
I can DEFINITELY say that The Sneaky Lass, SNEAKS INTO YOUR HEART ❤️! So good 👏🏻!
OK ✅! FIRST OFF 👆🏻! I FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS THE NEXT BOOK EVERYONE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT 😲😲😲! This book is soooooo incredible 🤩!! It is SO BEAUTIFULLY written ❤️. It is MEANINGFUL 💖. The plotline is FANTASTIC 👏🏻. There was NOTHING I would change! I do have to disclose that although this is a Romance Fantasy… it has very little Fantasy elements (no Fantasy creatures.) It’s basically Fantasy because it takes place in a land that isn’t our own and it has Pirates 🏴☠️! But not Lost Boys, Tinker Bell 🧚♀️, or Hook 🪝 kind of Pirates! I’d actually categorize this more along the lines of a Historical Fiction Romance 💘.
So what is it about?? It kicks off with a FMC that is a prostitute and has a pretty tragic life 😫! She sees a Pirate 🏴☠️ ship at a port and decides on a whim to dress up as a boy 👦 & board to escape her brutal life!!
Pretty simple, right 🧐? Not at all! This book is LOADED with beautiful ❤️, meaningful 🥹, and insightful 😌 writing & messages. The author has researched her hiney off and you really feel like your reading in the era of Pirates of the Caribbean (erg, I’m NO expert, so like the Average Jane.. tee hee 🤭, see what I did there Kennedy 😂?) Anyhoo! So like the average Jane, all I really know about pirates is that movie 😬😅! But in saying that, EVEN I CAN TELL this author has done her homework 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!
This is truly a full blown ROMANCE 💘 story at it’s core! It is really about falling in love with someone’s soul 🥹. It is truly beautiful 💞. And even though the main characters are a female & male, there are very strong pro LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 themes and it is so, so BREATHTAKINGLY 💨 done! This is SUPER slow burn 🔥 , but it’s one of those books that even if you are a big STEAM 🥵 lover… you just don’t care 🤷🏻♀️ ! You are so INVESTED 🥳 with finding out what is next that hanky 💋, panky 🫦 is not forefront on your mind at all!
Honestly, this book is so SO SPECIAL 💓👏🏻! And I’m just BLOWN AWAY 🤯 that I was lucky 🍀 enough to be one of the FIRST 🥇 to read it! I was given a copy before it dropped on KU because Kennedy was just on the LIVE ❣️ StreamYard Author Spotlight in this group & I like to read at least a few chapters of each author that comes onto the LIVE ❣️ to know what I’m about to talk about lol! And I HAD NO IDEA the greatness I was about to EMBARK on!!! But it wasn’t until the LIVE ❣️ that I found out that she was actually encouraged in our sister group, Author’s Corner, to write her first book 😲😲😲! Words cannot say how MOVED 🥹 I am that the sister group (which I SERIOUSLY debated creating because let’s be honest ✌🏻, the Main Group requires a lot of lovin’ already 😆!)… that this sister group ended up helping someone to follow their dream ✨! And not only that!!!! But then for them to BLESS 😇 us with such an AMAZING 🤩 book… is just SO SURREAL 😲🤯❤️❣️
I truly CANNOT wait for the second book 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! And I hear she has 7 more books to come & they are ALREADY written 😲😲😲!!
So if you love BEAUTIFUL ❤️ writing, meaningful 🥰 messages, an unconventional romance 😍, and of course… PIRATES 🏴☠️ … arrrrrrg ☠️! Give this a shot! It’s FREE on KU and you never know, it may just SNEAK into your heart ♥️ too!
