I read ‘A Curse of Fate,’ Book 1 of the Shifter City Fated Mates by Jaymin Eve and it is FANTASTIC 🤩! (FYI, this is an unbiased, genuine recommendation of a book I loved and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
Eeek 👏🏻! This book was so freaking GREAT! OKAY ✋🏻! First 👆🏻 things First 👆🏻… this is NOT an OMEGAVERSE! So um, for all of you PNR/UF oldies but goodies (like me 🙋🏻♀️😆), you remember the days of good ole shifter romances where there is a pack hierarchy… Alphas, Betas, Omegas, oh my 😮! So this is in-line 〰️ with that! Now, there are STILL a lot of PNRs/UFs that use these designations, but in recent years, Omegaverse 🥵🍑💦 (errr more like humans 🧍🏻♀️💕👬🏻👬🏻 with these designations) have taken a bigger spotlight 🏮 in the PNR genre and well, you might start reading this and think ohhhhh… there’s Alphas, Omegas, scent 👃🏻 matches… but nope, this is not an Omegaverse! It’s more of a traditional PNR with shifter designations, but then add on some smokin’ 🔥 hot Why Choose Alphas! And I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT 👏🏻🙌🏻!
Ok ✅! So this fabulous book first kicks 🦵 off with our FMC on the RUN 🏃🏻♀️! OMG I freaking LOVE 😍 an FMC on the run… LEGIT if I read that in a blurb… it’s a One-Click🖱️and I’m in 🙌🏻! Ok, so yeah, there’s an FMC on the run from ALL of shifter society since she is a RARE Omega… and she knows the pitfalls of being bonded to an Alpha pack with that designation. And when I say pitfall, I mean PITFALL 😱☠️🪦! Like… okay FINE, maybe it’s not Jabba the Hutts ‘Great Pit of Carkoon’ (does anyone else think of the pizza 🍕 guy from Spaceballs whenever they hear Jabba the Hutt?! No… just me? 😬😅)…. or like it’s not The Princess 👸 Bride’s ‘Pit of Despair’… but um, it’s not great though either, ykwim?! So anyhoo, she’s on the run 🏃🏻♀️- as she has been since she was a kid- and it doesn’t take long for the ACTION 🤺 to get pumping when she inevitably gets CAPTURED ⛓️💥 and taken to Golden Claw (the biggest shifter city of all!) to await trial 🧑⚖️ for her crime of being a ROGUE shifter (um, totally BS 💩, but like I’m here 🙋🏻♀️ for the DRAMA 🎭 of it!) And well, in walks a Hurricane 🌀 of an ALPHA 🥵 who NOT ONLY is the most POWERFUL 💪🏻 Alpha on the counsel… but all of a sudden, he smells 👃🏻so freaking DELICIOUS! Coffee laced in chocolate, folks! Can we say Chocolate 🍫 Espresso ☕️ Martini 🍸 (err maybe I’m just projecting here a little bit 😋 🤤😂)! Okay so… back to the recap! … UGH OH 🫢… we all know what that means!!! FATED MATES! So she knows she HAS to stay away from the pack or else ☠️, but how can she resist the smokin 🥵 hot yumminess??
It’s just such a great book, y’all 👏🏻 ! Jaymin Eve is a freakin’ master at crafting a page-turning tale! So if you LOVE ❤️ a kick-butt FMC who is on the RUN 🏃🏻♀️, a pack of the most dangerous, powerful, and HOT 🥵 Alphas around who only want to protect her & love ❤️ 🍆 🍑 🔥 on her (well errr, not ALL of them because where would the fun be in that 😅?!), some GREAT action 🤺 & drama 🎭 , and definitely “take her and you die!” 👊🏻 vibes… give this a shot! It’s free on KU and you never know, it may be the BEST kind of curse for you too!
