I read ‘Spark the Flames,’ Book 1 of the Secret of the Syphon by Ivy Asher and it is FANTASTIC 👏🏻! (FYI, this is an unbiased, genuine recommendation of a book I loved and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)
You guyyyyysssss… this book is freakin’ AMAZEBALLS 🤯. Not gonna lie 🤥 – this Romantasy/UF (and really a splash 💦 of FUTURISTIC Sci-Fi ⚗️ too) should be what EVERYONE 📣 is talking about! Like, how am I NOT seeing it all over BookTok and FB right now?!? It’s THAT 👉🏻 GOOD people! 👏🏻👏🏻
Ok so why 🤔 is it SO GOOD ?! Well! It kicks 🦵 off with a FMC who is ON THE RUN 🏃🏻♀️! I mean – y’all KNOW how much I LOVE a KICKBUTT 🤺 FMC on the run from a group of HOT 🥵 guys!
WARNING ⚠️: this is NOT a WHY CHOOSE! I just KNOW that as soon as I said HOT 🥵 guys, the Why Choose flags ⛳️ went flying up in y’alls minds, and I GET IT ✋🏻. I went through the first 1/3 of the book really hoping 🙏 it was… but TRUST ME👆🏻! It’s PERFECT 👌🏻 just as it is AND YOU ARE GONNA LOVE ❤️ this MMC 🥵! Like HOT 🔥 HOT 🔥 HOT 🔥! Oh and did I mention a DRAGON 🐉 shifter! Yeahhh… totally scrumptious 🤤. Ok but back to the story 😅!
So – ENTER ➡️ FMC on the run 🏃🏻♀️ after being imprisoned ⛓️💥 & weakened by a group of EVIL 👿 supes, add in a little “female dragons are rare” and the SMOKING HOT 🥵 Dragon Horde in HOT pursuit of her as well (because, well, female dragons are rare & she just popped up on their radar 📍after a life in hiding 🙈 )… throw in it a little SASS 💋 from the FMC who is in pursuit of REVENGE 👊🏻 for her fallen ☠️ family… and you have an action packed plot that takes place in a futuristic 🔮 world (that is not our own…aka ROMANTASY)… and some really big DRAMA 🎭 moments where we are like DAMN GINA… you go girl 👊🏻!… and needless to say, I WAS HOOKED 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻.
And that ENDING! FREAKING YES 🙌🏻 . It’s one of those endings (not spoiling it here) that takes a REALLY cool 😎 turn to introduce something new 🧚♀️ and then something happens and you are like PLEASE PLEASE DO IT GIRL 🔪(but you know, most authors don’t – because they like to torture us 😅- and your like so FRUSTRATED? Amirite? 😅) BUT THIS AUTHOR DOES FOLLOW THROUGH and it is DIVINE 🙌🏻! YESSSSS 👏🏻👏🏻! If Book 2 was out – I LEGIT would have spent $20 smackaroos to read it right at that moment! Hands down 👇🏻. GIMMEE 🤌🏻 GIMMEE 🤌🏻 GIMMEE 🤌🏻.

So yeah… if you are looking for a GREAT dragon 🐉 shifter book that is unique and a fabulous story all on it’s own, a KICK BUTT🤺 FMC with SASS 💋 , gumption, and well… lady balls 😆, and a HOT 🥵 MMC that LOVES 😍 her DEFIANCE 🤜🏻 and rises up to meet her 🤺 every step of the way… give this a shot! It’s FREE on KU and you never know, it may SPARK the FLAME 🔥 within you too (see what I did there 😅?!)!
