Event Policies

FanGrrrl Statement

Everyone attending our event will be given respect when it comes to consent, boundaries, service animals, and personal space. Every attendee has the right to participate without fear of discrimination, intimidation, or harassment of any kind. Accountability and appropriate repercussions for this will be swift.

Security will be circulating during all signing hours, and at all FanGrrrl Romance Recs affiliated events. If you have any concerns, please reach out to the closest security person available to assist you, as well as informing a FanGrrrl Team member.

Consent

Before touching, approaching outside of signing hours, taking photographs, or engaging in other physical contact with an Author, Vendor, VIP Talent/Influencers, or fellow attendees, ask for consent. NO is a complete sentence. Please respect other people’s boundaries at all times. Security will be circulating at all events to monitor this. Consent and boundaries will always be upheld at our events.

This event has a zero tolerance policy for violence or sexual harassment. Anyone who engages in violence or sexual harassment will be removed and banned from any future events.

Sexual/Verbal Harassment

No unwanted touching, groping, lewd comments, or asking a model or author to reenact anything explicit. This also includes slurs, offensive jokes, intimidation, unauthorized photos, stalking, aggressive behavior, unwanted contact, or unwanted sexual advances of any kind.

As stated previously, this event has a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment. Any instance of this and you will be removed from the event and banned from any future events.

Dedicated Spaces

During the after party/ball, there will be a designated space that only Authors, Vendors, and VIP Talent/Influencers can access, if desired. These backstage participants will be able to move freely between the attendee space at the after party/ball and this additional dedicated space. This additional dedicated space allows them the ability to not only connect with one another in a private setting, but to have a “breather” after two full signing days.

Lines

There will be no pushing, shoving, verbal harassment, or aggressive behavior tolerated in our lines. This includes fighting over spots in line, swearing at fellow line goers, and physical contact of any kind. Appropriate consequences will follow if you do, including possibly being asked to leave and banned from future events.

ADA Accommodations

FanGrrrl Romance Recs supports inclusivity and will work to accommodate those with disabilities or special needs. To help in the effort to meet ADA specific needs, FanGrrrl Romance Recs has a ADA Accommodations Form that allows ADA Attendee Ticket holders to submit accommodations required to attend the event.

We will do our very best to meet reasonable accommodations requested by ADA Attendee Ticket holders and if we are unable to do so, we will notify the ADA Attendee Ticket holder via the email submitted on the form. At which point, our expectation is that we will work together in a friendly, collaborative manner and in good faith to come to a satisfactory resolution. We ask that the ADA Attendee Ticket holder please communicate via the form any reasonable accommodations needed no later than 30 days prior to the event, as it allows us greater opportunity to ensure the ADA Attendee Ticket holder receives reasonable accommodations and assists us with planning. This statement is intended to reflect our commitment to inclusivity and is not intended to limit or waive any rights afforded under the Americans with Disabilities Act or applicable Florida law.

Service Animals

If a service animal is working, no touching, asking to pet, or distracting the animals.

Original Work

We support authors and creators original art and work. We reserve the right to refund and remove anyone from the event if they steal, copy, or reproduce another creator’s work without consent, or in some manner negatively impacts the FanGrrrl Romance Recs brand.

Removal from Events

Any person affiliated with FanGrrrl Romance Recs Premier Book Signings must encompass the FanGrrrl brand… friendly, positive book enthusiasts who love to FanGrrrl over authors and books! If at any time FanGrrrl Romance Recs finds that someone affiliated with the event (Authors, Vendors, VIP Talent, Assistants, VIP Influencers, FanGrrrl Team, Staff & Volunteers) does not uphold these principles or has violated one of the policies listed above, FanGrrrl Romance Recs reserves the right to retract their invitation and ban from future events.

If at any time an attendee violates one of our policies listed above, security will escort them from the premises and they will be banned from future events.

FanGrrrl Romance Recs commits to continually researching and learning through reader, author, and book community feedback about lessons learned, successes, expectations, and requirements for book events and strives to enhance its processes through continuous process improvement, including VOC (Voice of the Customer, i.e., Authors, Vendors, Influencers, Assistants, and Attendees). It is important that we strive to do our best, pivot when needed, take proactive measures, and that we are honest and ethical in our approach and communications.
